Ágúst Valfells received his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Iceland and his Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Michigan. Prior to joining Reykjavík University he worked at the University of Maryland doing electron beam research, and at Orkustofnun where he worked in the field of alternative fuels. His research interests are somewhat varied, but currently he is working on some issues concerning energy policy. He is also interested in micro scale vacuum electronic devices and plasma physics in general.
